At this year’s ‘art•ish Festival, we had the honor of presenting our inaugural Artrepreneur Award, a recognition created to celebrate creativity, resilience, and purpose-driven artistry. The first recipient, LaCarla Harris, embodies all of that and more.
LaCarla is the heart behind The Beauticurist, a brand that redefines what it means to walk in beauty and health. A devoted mother, worship leader, and foot care innovator, LaCarla’s journey is one of faith, healing, and entrepreneurship intertwined. “I believe that true healing starts from the ground up, both physically and spiritually,” she shared. “My mission is to help people walk in confidence, health, and purpose, literally and figuratively.”
For more than 22 years, she has been transforming the way people think about foot care. Through The Beauticurist, LaCarla offers advanced, medical-grade services and wellness products that bridge the gap between beauty and health, particularly serving seniors and individuals living with diabetes or chronic conditions. Her work has always been about more than self-care; it’s about restoring dignity and mobility, one step at a time.
Since being recognized at ‘art•ish, LaCarla’s journey has continued to flourish. “Life has been full of growth and divine alignment,” she said. “I’ve been expanding The Beauticurist brand, developing new products, and connecting deeper with my purpose of saving lives through foot care.” She also recently celebrated the release of her book, Silent Strength, a powerful testimony of resilience, faith, and freedom after overcoming a trauma-bonded marriage.
Her passion for excellence and faith recently led her to the Stellar Awards, one of gospel music’s most celebrated events. “It was such an amazing experience,” LaCarla reflected. “The energy, the music, the spirit in the room, everything was incredible. It reminded me that faith and excellence truly do belong together.” The experience, she said, reignited her creativity and reaffirmed her belief that her ministry and her craft walk hand in hand.
When asked what drives her passion, LaCarla’s answer comes from a place of deep conviction. “My craft is healing through foot care,” she said. “Feet tell a story of where we’ve been, how we carry pain, and how we move forward. Every service I provide is an opportunity to restore confidence, mobility, and even hope. When you heal the sole, you heal the soul.”
Looking ahead, LaCarla is busy developing new wellness kits and expanding community outreach through partnerships with local fire departments and senior centers, bringing education and preventative care directly to those who need it most. “It’s about serving with purpose,” she explained, “and continuing to build The Beauticurist brand with the same heart that started it all, The HeArt of the Sole.”
As she continues to make strides in business, ministry, and advocacy, one thing is certain: LaCarla Harris is walking boldly in her purpose and inspiring others to do the same.
